Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Saint Francis provides Pulmonary Rehabilitation consisting of an individualized, interdisciplinary treatment model designed to maximize the functional abilities and self-care skills of a person with pulmonary disorders. A specially trained Respiratory Therapist performs an evaluation of each patient which encompasses their clinical needs and rehabilitation potential.

Our short-term and long-term Respiratory Care focuses on stabilization of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. We begin with a focus on rehabilitation, early intervention strategies, proper screening with an interdisciplinary involvement, patient/family education, and the ability to alter the Plan of Care to meet each patient’s clinical needs.

Diagnosis and related conditions considered for the program are:
• Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
• Neuromuscular disease affecting Ventilation (example-ALS and Myasthenia Gravis)
• Pneumonia
• Congestive Heart Failure
• Asthma
• Status post respiratory failure with hypoxia
• Pulmonary Hypertension
• Interstitial lung disease
• Bronchiectasis
• Or other Pulmonary conditions where the patient exhibits a new onset of symptoms

Your Goal is Our Goal

Every day we make it our mission to deliver skilled respiratory care to each pulmonary patient in an efficient, caring, competent manner by a highly trained interdisciplinary team. Our goal is to ensure that each patient reaches his or her functional baseline without recurrent hospital admissions.
